  To ups you can count a clean room with a very comfy down duvet and availability of toiletries in the bathroom, however the latter is standard for all guesthouses in Iceland in that price range (at least the ones we’ve stayed at). The owner gives some piece of advice and maps of Reykjavik and Iceland are available Whole guesthouse is just a basement of the house. Thus, there are five rooms at a really cramped space and one micro bathroom with POOR ventilation. No separate WC is available. Imagine taking a morning shower after 8 other guests have already taken their… shower. Shower is covered in mold (have a look at the picture). Since it’s a basement, our window was at the level of the ground with fabulous view of a car (picture). The owner really tries to be helpful but…. he keeps you occupied for 15 minutes after your arrival with various instructions on how to use electric cattle or microwave. He does not ask. He ORDERS you to bring your bags from the car right now. In general he has a very patronizing attitude, which might be appropriate for first graders but not adults paying him to stay in his guesthouse. The most important instruction he gives is not to slam the door. Which is well justified given that each movement in the corridor is heard by everybody else in the guesthouse. As mentioned, the space is simply not suitable for that many guests.

  Great value for money, good location and cleaned to a high standard. The host was also very friendly and informative
