  We had a really lovely experience watching the northern lights and stargazing with Happyworld tours. On the night we went out, the lights were low intensity so appeared white to the naked eye but we had them all evening and they were moving and changing. They took as many photos as we wanted and indulged all sorts of antics in front of the camera doing their best to create any sort of photo they were asked for. The star gazing in the early part of the evening was gorgeous and informative. It was quite a cold night (about 16-20F over the course of the evening) and hot chocolate in the middle of the tour was most welcome.

  Caveat emptor! For the northern lights tour, they drove us 20 minutes out of town (the lights of Reykjavík still visible) in jeeps, had us stand on a hilltop in the freezing cold for hours, waiting for what turned out to be NO NORTHERN LIGHTS at all. This can happen, but when we found out that the forecast of solar activity that night was very low, then we definitely felt cheated. And EUR 175/person is very dear, in particular for what is essentially just a 20 minutes drive out of town. My advice: Pass on this one, and just go with a normal bus tour offered by the big tour operators for 1/3 of the cost.
