My wife and I are staying for our honeymoon in Reykjavík for 9 days and we were not that pleased with the gift shops offering mostly imported or foreign made items. We decided to take a drive out of the city and happened upon this place by accident. We bought quite a few items, which Haffi and his family handmake themselves and all of the minerals there are personally acquired by them. Not only awesome gifts, but Haffi is a wealth of knowledge, and an incredibly friendly and kind person. So happy we had the pleasure of meeting him. Eric & Ashley Curtiss (The Jewelry Doctor)

My fiance and I visited this museum on our road trip around the island and even with all of the amazing natural wonders that we saw, this was one of the highlights. I wish I could remember the keeper's name but he was really friendly and excited to tell us about their collection. He definitely inspired me to learn more about minerals in our home and start looking for them myself. The best part was when he learned that my fiance's grandparents were Icelanders, he spent the time to find a few of his best pieces of spar - Viking sun stone- (that weren't on display) so she could buy them and bring them back to her brothers. Now they all have matching pieces that I'm sure they'll treasure forever.

Situated in the gas station, this beautiful family collection is worth the stop. I liked the way it was presented. We could also touch some of the minerals. I think it's a beautiful way to honor this family and all the treasures they discovered over their life time.
