As a first time visitor of the magnificent country that Iceland is, I couldn’t have come across a better travel agency to arrange the week long holiday that we undertook just recently. From the planning stages of this trip I felt part of an experience rather than just a customer. The frequent updates, personalized approach and rapid responses made booking and planning this trip of a lifetime like a walk in the park. Fantastic team, great accommodation arrangements. I would definitely recommend Isafold Travel to anyone thinking of visiting Iceland! I for one can hardly wait to book my next holiday!

While looking into how to spend our time in Iceland, I found that booking hotels in the smaller towns on the south coast was going to take more time than I had on hand. I found the Volcano Huts website and saw the ad for a personalized tour. Since I knew where we wanted to go, I inquired about a self-tour for 5 days. The woman with whom I was in touch was very responsive and helpful. We ended up booking a car (a 4x4, but had I realized some of the terrain, I would have asked for a larger one), 5 hotel nights (including breakfast), a Blue Lagoon visit, and a snorkeling tour. The cost was a bit much, but then again, everything in Iceland is costly and it saved me insane amounts of time doing this myself. When we arrived, they picked up us from the hotel to get the rental car, gave a details booklet with the driving route, things to see, and other suggestions on our route. They also provided a GPS with EVERYTHING preprogrammed. I was so impressed, and overall our trip was relaxing, fun, and everything we wanted. We had 2 minor issues, which Isafold fixed quite quickly. They provide an emergency number to call for issues, so when we called the first time, they call the hotel and resolved the issue immediately. The second call was because they mis-scheduled our snorkeling tour (had I paid attention to the dates, I would have caught this earlier). They are refunding our money for this. In 5 days, we were able to follow the GPS, enjoy our drive, move at our own pace, and find a few places they suggested that were off the beaten path. They are organized, friendly, and very helpful. The cost is worthwhile. My only suggestions for them would be to: 1) once final payment is made, send the detailed itinerary to the client for review. We got our detailed itinerary the day we were setting out, and I would have loved more time to read it and look up other things to do and places to eat along our route. And 2) check the instructions for clarity in the detailed itinerary. On our first day, the blurb was very confusing, which led me to believe it was cut and pasted from several other previously created itineraries. There was conflicting information here and we ended up spending almost 5 hours waiting for a bus to take us to the Volcano Huts. because the suggestions on what to do were not clear. We did take a hike, but that still left us with 2 hours without food or toilets in a remote area.

We just returned from a trip to Iceland. We were on a tight schedule as we only had 4 days. Many of the tour companies we contacted had fixed schedules that did not work with our's. I came across Isafold Travel through a blog. Our Travel Consultant was Edda S. Edda was consistently responsive, patient with our requests/questions, and put together an amazing package for us. The tour included the Northern Lights, a private driver for 2 days to transport us to activities such as the ice caves, snowmobiling on a glacier, and, of course, the sights along the Golden Circle. Our guide also took us to some off-the-beaten-path sights. On the morning before our flight, Edda also booked a horse riding tour. We were very happy with Isafold Travel and will definitely use their services again when we return to Iceland.
