By far my favorite place we ate in all of Iceland. The fish was so fresh and the lobster bisque was to DIE FOR! On top of that my bill was under 30 which is very cheap for Iceland.

This place is delicious and cheep as for Iceland. You van get a whale sample here which is great cause we got two small pieces instead of one big and expensive steak. I didn't like it so glad we took a small piece. We also got salmon on the grill and lobster soup which were both very tasty. Free water and coffee with milk and sugar offered a together with a wide variety of sauces.

They say they are famous for their Lobster Soup, and I can see why. A great, slightly sweet flavor, with lobster pieces that are tender. Served with a baguette, that was perfect for dipping in the soup broth. Main course I had Icelandic Cod with vegetables. Everything was well seasoned and grilled perfectly. I had this with a dark porter beer, which was superb. Highly recommended. Not the cheapest place in the area, but great for a casual and authentic seafood dinner.

As far as I am concerned, this is THE go-to place for catch-fresh fish. The menu is basic: they put everything on a skewer and grill it. If you're good with that, they go for it! Tip: they have a soup-and-skewer combo with several different kinds of fish every day. The ambience is funky-industrial-worker with tight seating and a slew of sauces that I think you can largely skip. They do offer a taster for mink whale if you''re curious - and I know you are - for not much and I highly recommend adding that. They also offer a skewer of potatoes that is a great filler-upper. Decent selection of icelandic beers, as well as free water and coffee. Grill closes before the restaurant does. Even if you are only in Iceland briefly, give yourself a real treat and pop in here for a quick lunch, an afternoon snack, or the late-night dinner. One of my favorite places ever!
