We couldn’t make it to the Blue Lagoon. Fortunately our Airbnb host had this public bath listed among places in Reykjavik we shouldn’t miss. The scenic beauty of the Blue Lagoon is missing but the warm bath was just as amazing and yes without the crowd usually found with popular places. We still would like to go to the Blue Lagoon someday but we wouldn’t miss coming back here again.

Awesome place. Went on a Tuesday afternoon and had a great swim in the heated pool and soak in the 42 Celsius hot tub. Air temp was probably about 2 Celsius. Perfect Icelandic experience. Even tried the cold tub for a few seconds. Wow.

Really great place, I was traveling alone and a local actually helped me find the entrance and the staff asked if it was my first time going to an Icelandic pool. (they are generally warmer, even the lap pool, than their counterparts around the world). They were extremely kind, and walked me through all the steps and directions to get to the locker room, showers, ect. Other pool-goers were also helpful if I needed any help. I brought my own towel, bathing suit, shampoo and conditioner. I went in January and I highly recommend it.

First time at a thermal bath and enjoyed it. $10 entry. BRING YOUR OWN TOWEL or pay $6 for a rental. It looked like the woman's area had been renovated recently but the men's looked like it was original from the 30s. Pools were great; 3 hot tubs, 1 kid pool one "ice" pool (10-12°), steam room, outdoor lap pool, indoor diving board and pool. The English of the staff wasn't as good as some. Best part was the price, $10 vs the Lagoon for $61+

We had a wonderful time in the hot tubs here, sitting in the cold rain. Good opportunity to talk with some local people, learn why this is such a popular activity for Icelanders- cause it feels great! Nudity in the dressing rooms is a real European experience!
