::I needed a new plate for my tripod urgently as I had left mine back in the Uk😫 I had just arrived in Iceland Looked up local camera stores and called Beco. Very helpful staff and new exactly what I required . They had stock so I arranged to pay a visit. What a great store they have everything you could possibly need for your photography requirements. Advised me on how to get best shots of Aurora . So I decided to not only buy the plate but I also invested in a new 2.8 wide angle!!! And a larger memory card.🤪five star store 👌

::Film photographers have it tough all over. You go to most camera shops - whether in the U.S. or not - and, if you're lucky, you'll find four or five rolls of 35mm film, and a sales person who doesn't know E-6 from 400 ISO. So, imagine my panic when both my Rolleiflex SL-66 body *and* the lens on my Nikon FM-2 go kaput while photographing during a gorgeous day on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula. The first thing I did this morning was call Beco Camera Shop, and the very helpful customer agent on the phone found me a 50mm/f1.4 lens that has since been beautifully acquiring images of Iceland, and has nicely salvaged the photographic portion of my trip. Beco also has an entire refrigerated display case full of black and white as well as color film, in 35mm and 120. They even had a pack of Fujicolor FP-100C instant film for Polaroid cameras, as well as Instax film, and a small selection of photographic paper and chemistry. The young lady who sold me the lens and film was friendly and knowledgeable. She also showed me how I can recoup the taxes paid on the lens. When I return to Iceland, the first place I'll visiting is Beco. It is always a pleasant surprise to purchase from people such as this who support film photography. Attached is a photo taken on my now defunct lens. Beco sold me one that has the same quality glass. Thank you!!!!
