  We visitied this geothermal place during a road trip on this part of the island. It's cool to see and it's set so you can visit it safely. IF you decide to do a trip around this area, I'd suggest to stop here and visit it.

  A beautiful, free site. Just as beautiful as the Kerið Crater but without the mass of tourists. The water is especially blue, clear and beautiful on sunny days. There is a small parking lot near this site although it's not well marked. Definitely worth a quick visit if you are near the Grindavik area (south of Keflavik airport).

  If you are coming from the Krýsuvík / Seltún direction, it is just 2 minutes south of the geothermal area​, there's a small parking at the south of the lake. This crater lake is in green color due to a high level of sulphur in the water and its depth. It is beautiful even we can only view it from the road side due to the heavy rain and we had no knowledge of the availability of car park.
