::NEVER RENT A CAR WITH THIS COMPANY!! We booked a car 3 weeks ago. When we droped off the car, they said us that we had to pay almost 700€ for a car's damage (you can see the photo) We didn't make the damage and we picked Up the car with the damage. We had to pay because we had to go to the airport. When we arrived to Spain, I sent the evidences (photos and video) that I took before take the car in the Office the first day and the damage was there already. THEY DON'T WANT REFUND US OUR MONEY EVEN TOUGHT THE EVIDENCES. I have already called to the office and some Divy o Dinny doesn't want help us and he Talks to me contemptuously and shouting. When I said that the price for the damage was so expensive he said me: I DON'T KNOW IN YOUR COUNTRY, BUT IN MY COUNTRY THE WORK IS PAID. I don't know what I have to think about this comment. Are we slaves in my country? This is a disgrace.

::DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY! Unless you enjoy paying $5800 USD for existing damages. I wrote this review for the ACE Rent a Car at Keflavik because that is who I thought it was, but since "Go Iceland" was at the top of my contract too, I will post it here as well. If you have a reservation with them and are reading this review, I highly suggest cancelling it right now and finding a more reputable rental car agency; one that doesn’t scam their customers. First of all, it is not easily accessible from the airport; you have to take a separate shuttle that we didn’t know about because the address is wrong that shows it by all the other rental car agencies. Once we got there, the customer service was terrible at check in. The guy was not friendly or helpful at all. Their optional insurances nickel and dime you, costing more than double what the daily rental fee costs. We declined the optional insurance because I am covered through my credit card; When I mentioned that statement, the guy at the counter seemed to get defensive and blatantly stated, “Ok, when you get back we will give you paper work and you can make a claim with your insurance company, but you will have to pay for damages,” as if he already knew he was going to pin some damage on us. Anyways, they don’t even go over the damage inspection with you when you are picking up the car or ever take you to the vehicle to go over it; just made us sign the rental agreement before even picking up the car. When we finally got our car, we were expecting a Jeep when we made our reservation online, instead, it was an old, poor performance, and incredibly small Suzuki Jimmy. It was raining and dark out, so we quickly made sure what they marked on the damage inspection sheet was present on the car and proceeded with our trip. When we returned the car, there was a different guy at the counter that had an ear piece in and he started to talk to someone over it when I was giving him the keys. Then we went to the car to do the return inspection. He did a quick 30 sec inspection and went directly to the drivers side door and started rubbing spots, then came to me and said, “did you guys drive through a sand storm?” No, we did not. The weather was actually great for most of the trip, a little rainy the first day. Sunny and no wind the other days. The specs of “sand damage” he was talking about were so incredibly tiny, for anyone that has rented a car before wouldn’t have even recognized as damage, other than normal wear and tear of a rental car that had 114,000 kilometers on it!! Then the guy who rented the car to us, came in the office, and started to try and show us pictures of the vehicle before we rented it to show us the damage wasn’t present, which we believe was total BS. The vehicle looked completely detailed, like they were the pictures from when they bought it. He wouldn’t show us the date the pictures were created. We think they knew they were going to pin this damage on us once we declined the optional insurance. A couple came in right behind us that declined the insurance as well; we wished them good luck because they picked up their car a day before us, and stayed in Reykjavík as well, but they didn’t have any “sand damage.” If there was a sand storm shouldn’t they have sand damage too? We were targeted. In fear of missing our flight home, we had to pay the $5800 in damages. Absolutely worst car rental company I have ever dealt with, and we believe they are scamming customers. We talked to another couple that said they read a girl felt she got scammed as well and was going to file a claim with the Icelandic Tourism Agency, and you can guarantee I will be doing the same thing. It is my goal to put these scam artists out of business and save anyone else from falling victim to their rude, dishonest, and immoral business practices.

::I was EXTREMELY nervous after reading all the bad reviews of this company but since I had a non refundable booking I went ahead with it anyways. We did not take any of the additional insurance, drove the entire ring road, used common sense and kept the vehicle clean and had no issues when returning it. The vehicle we rented was an automatic Volkswagen and was decent on gas, drove well and was moderately comfortable for 10 nights in Iceland. The van came with a heater, cooler, free wifi and two sleeping bags and was wonderful for what we had set out to do. Upon return we had the same attendant as we had when we first picked up the van , it was quick and easy, signed a couple papers and off we went. No “scam” or false damage claims. And a HUGE sigh of relief..... My advice to anyone renting with this or any company is to definitely TAKE PICTURES before you drive it off the lot of everything, and upon return as well. Just in case!! And use common sense while driving and you’ll be fine renting with this company. They are friendly and respectful if you are friendly and respectful to them.

::Contrary to the other reviews, we had a pleasant experience. Picking up the car was no problem. We inspected it before signing anything and made sure to point out any damages they didn't specify. We took pictures of everything. Drop off was just as easy. The rep looked over the car quickly and we were on our way. The van came with everything we needed from kitchen stuff to linen and chairs plus wifi. Would recommend!
