  One of my favorite parts of visiting Iceland! The water was partly iced over, and one section was FULL of swans. Ample stops for parking and hiking trails make this location perfect for anyone to visit. Amazingly beautiful in winter.

  On a fait le tour du lac en voiture, endroit reposant et dépaysant (comme tout le pays).

  This is a great location for watching and photographing Northern lights. Just beware that if you have an older camera, the auto focus will likely not work in the dark as there is nothing in the foreground for you to focus on. A work around is to set your focus to a bit less than infinity, which is how I took my picture.

  Un lago che merita una sosta per poter ammirare il panorama e le colate laviche solidificate che si trovano lungo la strada adiacente. Non vale la pena venire apposta solo per vederlo. Consiglio: ci sono diversi punti nei quali sostare con la macchina senza problemi. la strada che porta a questo lago da Reykjavik è sterrata per un piccola porzione (ad ottobre 2016) ma ugualmente percorribile anche con macchine 2WD
