::We stayed at the Natura Hotel where the restaurant is, really your only choice if you don't/can't go downtown to eat; always crowded and overstated, overpriced, you are most of the time ignored..seems they do it on purpose, there is always the next tourist that will show up and put up with the lack of service. Unfortunately, that is the situation in most of Iceland for the average tourist; there's just too many people and quality is not priority, sad.

::If you are a hotel patron, you can get breakfast as a package. It has a wide array of Icelandic fares, including herring and Skyr yogurt (Icelandic yogurt), but you get the common Western breakfast items, such as eggs, toast, bacon, etc. I also tried this place for dinner. Julie (fiancée) ordered skirt steak as an appetizer and pizza as her entree. I ordered slow smoked lamb, which is a local fare. Supposedly, the lamb in Iceland are allowed to roam wild in the forests, so they eat grass, herbs, and other vegetation. It's supposed to explain its superior flavor. Anyway, everything was amazing. Keep in mind that food in Iceland is significantly more expensive, even for New York standards. It's probably because of a lack of farming due to the extreme conditions.
