  We chose Lotus as they were the best option for top insurance cover and they had good reviews, I am very happy we did. We hired a Nissan X-trail and managed to squeeze 6 adults in it, the back seat was a bit tight, but it worked. The car was brand new with new winter tyres on it. The pick-up was super fast and the car ran perfectly. I have taken one star off the score as it was not explained that nobody would be in the office when we dropped the car off at 5am. However, this was fairly easy, I just parked the car and dropped the keys in the letter box. I would recommend them and would use them again.

  We arrived around 7am, there was almost no other customers there. The process was really fast. We rent an "older model" of Suzuki 4x4. It was made in 2014, with 140K+ mileage. Lots of dents and scratches on the body. I was a little concerned how it performs. But the staff convinced me that there is no mechanic problems at all and the wear-and-tear on the body is something expected. Even if it breaks down on the road, you can call them for road side help, all included in the rental fee. So we drove the Suzuki away. It runs well. We did drive on some tough road, not much though. When we returned the car, it was around 3pm, there were a few people lining up in the office. We waited for about 5 minutes until the agent checked the car. From there we just walked to the terminal B(when we first arrived, we waited at the bus terminal in cold air for 10 minutes for the bus ride to the office. It seems you can just walk to the office, if you know where it is). All in all, I am happy with my experience. They sent you email about inclement weather and road closure, which is really helpful. We purchased the Gold insurance which they recommend on their website. I can't tell you if it is absolutely necessary since we didn't have bad weather or accident. So it all depends on how much risk you want to take.

  This is the second time I have rented from LOTUS in Iceland and I was just as pleased as the first. I rented a Kia Soul with built in GPS Navigation which was a nice bonus! The car was clean, well maintained and met all of our expectations. It had studded winter tires which came in handy during the extreme weather we encountered. They also give you discount coupons with N1 stations in Iceland which is nice with the high price of gas there. I would definitely rent from LOTUS again if I return to Iceland as they either met or exceeded all of my expectations.

  Unser Auto, ein VW Polo Automatik, war sehr gut und ohne unangenehme Gerüche (nur kleinere Schrammen, die man bei Mietwagen wohl fast immer hat). Die Anmietung war unkompliziert und ging sehr schnell - ohne Warteschlange. Wir bekamen auch noch wichtige Tipps zum Wetter und der Verkehrslage und wurden sogar während unseres Aufenthaltes per E-Mail vor Wind und Blitzeis gewarnt. Für das Tanken bekamen wir einen Chip und konnten somit an manchen Tankstellen günstiger tanken (wobei der Verbrauch des Autos sehr niedrig war). Die Rückgabe war ebenfalls problemlos.
